Maryland high school sophomores may apply to the Virginia Space Coast Scholars (VSCS) online program, thanks to a partnership between the Maryland and Virginia Space Grant consortia. Students should apply and request counselor endorsements and recommendations through the online portal before the application deadline of October 25, 2026.
Maryland applicants who qualify will be considered for a limited number of available slots in the VSCS online course, which runs from November to March. Those who successfully complete the program will be invited to a 1-day NASA STEM event and tour at Goddard Space Flight Center held at a later date TBD — last year’s was held on 7/14. (Please note that the Goddard event replaces the residential academy held at Wallops Flight Facility, for which only VA students are eligible.)
