2010, June 10 - University of Maryland College Park Team Wins RASCAL Competition
A University of Maryland College Park - Arizona State University team took first place in the undergraduate division of the RASC-AL competition. Their project, Robotic Assist Vehicle for Extraterrestrial Navigation, won against 19 other top engineering schools. This is the third time in a row that UMCP has won the undergraduate competition! RASC-AL is NASA's Revolutionary Aerospace Systems Concept-Academic Linkage competition. It takes real-world NASA engineering design challenges and provides a forum for engineering students across the US to compete for the best solution.
2009, August 7 - University of Maryland College Park Wins CanSat
The UMD CanSat Team won first place in the 2009 International CanSat design competition held in Amarillo, Texas, this past weekend!
Yet another demonstration of how smart and hardworking our aerospace students are! The team consisted of: Dru Ellsberry, Laura Meyer, Connie Ciarleglio, Jarred Young, Kevin Davis, A K Hyder, Samantha Lustig, and Keith Burghardt.
The team received partial support from the Maryland Space Grant Consortium.
